There is a queue in a ticketing office. Amanda is $10^{th}$ from the front while Murthy is $25^{th}$ from behind and Marta is just in the middle of the two. If there be $50$ persons in the queue. What position does Marta occupy from the front?

• A. $16$
• B. $18$
• C. $15$
• D. $17$

Number of persons between Amanda and Murthy $=50−(10+25)=15.$ Since Marta lies in middle of these $15$ persons, so Marta's position is $8^{th}$ from Amrita i.e. $18^{th}$ from the front.

So, the correct answer is $(B).$

i think answer can be any of 17 and 18, as number of elements between 10 and 25 is even (10,25)-→ [11 to 24]-->24-11+1-->14, elements in between, 7 or 8 anyone can we middle, so position of Marta can be 10+7 or 10+8 which is 17 or 18??? please correct what i am thinking wrong?
