Series having a pattern like this:

  • $299-178=121$
  • $178-97=81$
  • $97-48=49$
  • $48-23=25$ ($24$ is wrong term in series)
  • $23-14=9$
  • $14-13=1$

All these are squares of an odd number. Option C is correct.
