In question, instead of 3 it shold be $\sqrt{3}$ . then only we can get the answer as $30^{\circ}$

Let $AB$ be the tree and $AC$ be its shadow.

Let $\angle ACB = \theta$

Then, $\dfrac{AC}{AB} = 3$

$\implies \cot\theta = 3$
