The trick is to find  LCM of the given 3 numbers first as the phrase "divisible by" is used instead of "divides" .

Thus LCM(8,11,24)   =   264

But the question says about the number which on adding 5 leads to the LCM.

Hence   ;    x + 5   =   264

           ==>  x       =   259

Hence B) should be the correct answer.
