Read the following directions carefully and answer the questions and mark as follows:

A circle circumscribes a square. What is the area of the square?

  1. Radius of the circle is given.
  2. Length of the tangent from a point $5$-cm away from the centre of the circle is given.

  1. If any one of the statements alone is sufficient to answer the question.
  2. If both statements individually are sufficient to answer the question.
  3. If both statements together are required to answer the question.
  4. If both statements are not sufficient to answer the question.

  1. If any one of the statements alone is sufficient to answer the question.
From statement $1$ :-
Radius is given, hence $'2 * \text{radius}’$ will be diagonal of square. Therefore, we can find area of square.
From statement $2$ :-
In the statement, tangent only touches circle at a single point, hence $5$ cm is actually radius of the circle. Thus, we can find diagonal of the square and finally we can obtain the required area.
