May be this question is about identifying a wrong number in the series...

There is a pattern in difference between the consecutive numbers…

0 - 1        :   1         <---        0^2 +  1

1 - 3        :   2         <---        1^2 +  1

3 - 8        :   5         <---        2^2 +  1

8 - 18     :   10         <---       3^2 +  1

18 - 35   :   17         <---       4^2 +  1

Next difference should be  5^2 + 1   i.e. 26.

35 - 61   :   26         <---       5^2 +  1

From above the correct sequence would be: 0,1,3,8,18,35,61

and so, the wrong number is:  264

Option:  5
