Rahul went to a shop and bought things worth Rs. 25, out of which 30 paise went on sales tax on taxable purchases. If the tax rate was 6%, then what was the cost of the tax free items?

6% tax rate on taxable amount give 30 paise so,

$ \frac{6}{100} \times x = 30\\x=500 $
so, taxable amount is 5 rupees

Tax free amount = 25 - 5.30 = 19.7 rupees
