Mr X starts walking northwards along the boundary of a field from point A on the boundary, and after walking for $150 \; \text{m}$ reaches B, and then walks westwards, again along the boundary, for another $100 \; \text{m}$ when he reaches C. What is the maximum distance between any pair of points on the boundary of the field?

  1. The field is rectangular in shape.
  2. The field is a polygon, with C as one of its vertices and A as the mid-point of a side.

We know breath and length of the field

if the field is rectangular then we can measure maximum distance of any two points is AC=√(100^2 + 150^2)

if it is a polygon then also max distance is AC

So, Ans B)
